‘The Waldorf approach differs from mainstream science education by which the teacher presents a hypothesis and the students prove it using a scientific method. This process is linear and does not stimulate thought and science is not flat knowledge, formulae, names. It is curiosity. Instead Waldorf begins with a phenomenon that the students observe and write what they saw. The class discusses the observations, thinks about them, wrestles with them and then strives to come to a conclusion.’
