The Alan Howard Waldorf School welcomes applications from families who support the goals of Waldorf education for their children.
Students applying to the school should be able and willing to engage in the full range of the curriculum activities, to learn in a group setting and to become constructive members of their class. Parents are asked to provide a home environment which supports the goals of the education.
Admission to the Alan Howard Waldorf School is based on the following:
- Completion of an application form which includes a $100 non-refundable application fee
- Forwarding of two previous school reports, where applicable;
- Personal meeting between parents, applicant and prospective teacher;
- A three-day class visit to the appropriate class in the grade school.
Age requirements are as follows:
Nursery - Children should have turned 3 by June 30th of the enrolment year.
Kindergarten - Children should have turned 4 by June 30th of the enrolment year.
Grade One - Children should have turned 6 by June 30th of the enrolment year.
Applications are processed starting February 1st. Early application is recommended, particularly for the early childhood programs, as space is limited. Priority is given to siblings of families currently in the school and students transferring from other Waldorf schools around the world.
