SSAF 2009 Indoor Soccer Champs

AHWS students pose beside the SSAF Indoor Soccer Champions Banner. SSAF is a sports league for Small Schools. Last week the boys played volleyball against Voice Intermediate School and won!
Competitive team sports such as soccer, ball hockey, volleyball, badminton and basketball are introduced in the Middle School grades.

Grade 6/7 trip to Haliburton

Every year, the Grade 6s and 7s start the year off with an excursion into nature.  This year, the two classes headed north to Haliburton, for camping, rock-climbing, canoeing!

Phys. Ed and Extra-curricular Sports

In the Lower School, the physical education program consists primarily of co-operative games.  In the Middle School, competitive team sports and specific sports skills are introduced consisting of gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, soccer and floor hockey.
Students in Grades Six through Eight have an athletic uniform which is worn during physical education classes.  The uniform consists of shorts and a school shirt (both of which can be obtained through the school office), running shoes and athletic socks.
